New Long Island Talent With an Old School Twist

On this past Tuesday night’s episode of America’s Got Talent has led a Long Island native on the road to stardom.

20-year-old pizza delivery man Sal Valentinetti of Bethpage, NY blew the judges and audience away with his performance of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” Tuesday night, almost with an erie similarity to the late Sinatra himself.

Simon Cowell, who joined the the show as one of the judges this season stated,“When you want to sing this kind of music, you can’t fake, It’s either in you or it’s not. And you’re an old soul.” Cowell as well mentioned Valentinetti’s late grandmother,“I’m guessing right now your grandmother’s looking down at you, and she probably is saying, ‘Yeah, he did it his way.’ I can feel that,” leaving the young star on the rise emotional.

While Valentinetti’s mother sobbed with joy in the audience, Heidi Klum told him, “I just love the way you talk, too… And then I love the way you sing, too,” with excitment, Valentinetti responded, “She loves the way I sing. I love the way you look tonight. How you doin’?”

The final and biggest moment of the night was when Klum hit the golden button which would seal his fate and ultimately lead him to the final round. Valentinetti said, “Today is the first day of the rest of my life.”

Just when you thought they didn’t make’em like they used to, we are left with Sal Valentinetti, the young New York Italian who could change the face of the music industry as we know it.
